Developing Your Case Statement
The most important tool in your fundraising toolbox is your story. Making the case for support rests on your telling the story of your work that is compelling, personal and urgent.
Donors today have unlimited access to information. They can look up your organization and find all the metrics they need to know whether you are successful. What donors need to complete that picture is storytelling – stories that allow them to, to paraphrase Gandhi, be the change they want to see in the world. And you need to tell those stories in a way that not only feeds them affirmation about your success but pulls them into your story as activists and givers.
There are many ways to communicate these stories – we can do it through the traditional modes of direct mail, annual reports, and even foundation proposals. But today’s market offers so many more storytelling options – specifically innovative, visually-focused social media vehicles. And an organization needs to have multiple ways of telling its story.
We will work to develop your case statement – the reason someone will feel compelled to give and to become a part of your organization’s story. And we will create multiple tools for you, developing a palette of storytelling color that allows you to be flexible and nimble when relaying your tale.
